What to bring with you to have your taxes done:

• Valid Picture Identification
• A copy of last year’s tax return, if you have one
• Social Security Cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) Cards for you, members of your household, and dependents
• W-2s, 1099s, or any other wage, salary and income statements
• If using Direct Deposit, a bank document showing the Bank routing Number and Account Number
• If claiming child and dependent care expenses, the amount paid and the care providers name, address and identifying number
• Receipts for expenses you would like to deduct, like day care
• Current year’s tax package, if received

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a tax benefit for people who work that is claimed by filing a tax return. D.C. Maryland and Virginia residents can claim the EITC on both their federal and state tax returns.
