Every year hundreds of volunteers visit CentroNía and change the lives of our children and families. Whether it is weekly tutoring sessions, leading art projects to decorate our walls, or one-time intensive projects with our facilities team – volunteer’s time and talent shared makes an enormous impact in our community!
This winter CentroNía was fortunate to host a group of volunteers from The Booz Allen Latin American Forum (LAF). As part of a community outreach partnership effort working with young children, they visit us about three times a year. During their last visit in January, LAF members and the Community Outreach Lead, Andrea Sanchara, led a painting activity for 1st students enrolled in CentroNía’s Studio R.O.C.K.S., an out-of-school time program. Many of the students blended paints to make new colors and everyone enjoyed connecting over their creations, especially the volunteers!
“Booz Allen is committed to provide a diverse and inclusive workplace, and the Latin American Forum extends this commitment to serve and volunteer in cultural affinity communities and organizations,” said Andrea Sanchara, Community Outreach Lead.
At CentroNía we are grateful to have community partners such as Booz Allen. Their time spent in each classroom is invaluable for our students and teachers.
