For the past four years, CentroNía has been proud to partner with the Richard E. & Nancy P. Marriott Foundation to provide high-quality, affordable bilingual early childhood education and wrap-around services to more than 2,400 children and families each year. This year, we are excited to be the recipient of a $25,000 grant for general operating support. The investment from The Richard E. & Nancy P. Marriot Foundation aligns with their commitment to supporting nonprofit organizations primarily located in the Washington, D.C. metro area that help youth secure a promising future, especially through early childhood education, mentoring, and youth leadership programs.
The overarching goal of CentroNía’s early childhood education program is to provide affordable, high-quality bilingual education to children ages 0 to 5, from low-income, working families and assist in their acquisition of the academic, physical, and socio-emotional skills needed to ensure a successful and school-ready transition to kindergarten. As part of this grant, CentroNía will also ensure teachers and staff receive the educational support they need to meet our ambitious quality standards as we expand services to children and families in the region.
“At CentroNía we understand that investing in early childhood education has the most impact in a child’s journey toward higher education enrollment and completion,” said Myrna Peralta, CentroNía President & CEO. “We are very grateful to The Richard E & Nancy P. Marriott Foundation for their support. Their contribution will make a huge impact as we continue to sustain and grow our capacity to serve more children in the Washington metropolitan area.”
